Not long ago I swung by Girardo & Co in South West London to take a look at their inventory of cars they have. I was aware that they had some of the most amazing cars on the market at the time in stock, ranging from a Lancia Delta S4 Corsa Group B rally car to an Aston Martin DB4 GT with extensive racing history, however, I wasn't quite prepared for just how amazing these moving pieces of art are in person. Each car is presented in the utmost pristine condition, on display in a very laid back and trendy showroom, that appears as more of a lounge to enjoy the cars in. The more time I spent around each of the cars, the more interesting quirks I found, leading to more of a personal appreciation for each of the cars.
A particular favourite of mine was the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/2 Daytona, it was clearly made for one purpose and one purpose only, to be the fastest around the 1968 Daytona 24 Hours, however, the haunches, stance and dimensions of the car make it something that stands out upon the crowd of uber cool cars in the compound. A close second personal favourite piece of automobile history they had on show was the DB4 GT, this particular one is presented in Elusive Blue, only 3 were made in the colour, but few other DB4 GTs have the same level of provenance that this one has on offer, being that it was the only one to contest the original Tour de France in 1960 and has an array of history files to go along with the car.
Below is a selection of images from my visit to try and convey just how awesome the Girardo showroom is. As always, a huge thanks to Girardo & Co for their amazing hospitality and for making me so feel welcome to have a look around, take a look on their site for any further information of their amazing stocklist.
